Sualkuchi is silk weaving village on the north bank of Brahmputra, about 30km from Guwahati. There is a hillock inside this village where this ancient temple of Lord Shiva is situated. The architecture of the present temple looks not very old built by the Ahom king Siva Singha in 18th century.
There are three Shiva ling outside and one on the entrance. Outer wall of the temple is decorated with various deities. Both side of the main gait has Devi murti.
There is a prayer hall and house for priest. It is well maintained by local authorities. Surrounding village and Brahmputra river is seen from the top the hill. It is less well known but worth visiting place.
