The Markandeshwar Mahadev temple in the Kurukshetra district of Haryana is said to be at the spot where Markandeyaji prayed to Lord Shiva and got the boon of immortality.
The original temple dated back to pre-Mahabharat times. The current temple is more recent, and is located south of Ambala.
